Cardiac Science's orange IntelliSense Lithium battery is inserted at the back of the device. The G5 battery should be pushed through until you hear a click. After the battery is inserted, a self-test is initiated and the Rescue Ready indicator should turn green.

The Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 AED has a status indicator to indicate the battery capacity. It is displayed in 5 different bars. When a green LED is lit in the bar, there is sufficient remaining capacity. If a red LED is visible, there is insufficient residual capacity and the Powerheart G5 battery must be replaced. The G5 battery can deliver at least 250 shocks. The operating time is 16 hours at 20°C - 30°C.

Battery life depends on the type. settings of the AED, actual use and environmental factors. If these are not optimal or your AED has been deployed one or more times, the battery life may be less than 4 years.

The IntelliSense battery automatically stores the history of battery usage. This history can be easily read via AED Manager Software.
