CARDIAC SCIENCE POWERHEART G5 CPR ELECTRODES

The Powerheart G5 CPRD electrode set is applicable for adults. These defibrillation electrodes can be used pre-connected and provide CPR feedback through the CPR module. Electrode positioning is indicated on both the packaging and the electrodes themselves.

Using the CPR sensor

The rescuer who likes to have CPR feedback during deployment can use these electrodes. The electrode kit consists of two pads with a separate module between them. This is the CPR sensor. It is about the size of a palm and should be placed on the chest at the level of the hand placement for administering chest compressions. Its non-slip exterior and shape transfers compressions from the rescuer to the patient's heart. The CPR sensor measures the depth and rate of chest compressions. The AED uses this information to indicate the appropriate pace and depth of compressions during CPR.
* The use of the CPR sensor is optional. If you are not using it, place it on a surface next to the patient. DO NOT attempt to disconnect the sensor from the cable.

SHELF LIFE OF THE G5 ELECTRODES

Electrodes have an expiration date due to the conductive gel which can dry out. They should not be used after the expiration date. Therefore, make sure that you always have an unopened set of electrodes with an expiration date. The Powerheart G5 electrodes have a shelf life of approximately two years. The expiration date can be found on a sticker attached to the back of the package.
