Why AED maintenance?
When purchasing an AED, it is important that an AED can be used in the event of an emergency. It is important for both the victim and the person performing the CPR, that the AED can be used properly. A periodic maintenance check of an AED ensures reliability and safety.
During the maintenance of an AED, the durability of batteries and electrodes is checked. The software is updated and functional tests are performed. Defects are thus revealed and materials are replaced if necessary. Without periodic checks an AED may no longer work and will not function is needed in an emergency.
